Natural Incense / Sustainable Sage alternative

Smudging is an ancient practice that all earthly cultures have in common. Local, medicinal herbs are gathered and tied into a bundle with thread. Then, they are burnt.

🌱 Smoke as a doorway
The diffusing scent and smoke from the herbs are soothing to the nervous system, allowing the body to move into a state of relaxation, thereby opening the gates of perception. There is a shift from the thinking mind to the sensing body.

🌱 Smoke for cleansing:
When aromatic herbs are burnt, they release into the air their antimicrobial qualities, neutralising microbes. The volatile oils (essential oils) in plants are part of their own immune function – it is their shield of protection from harmful insects. In the same way, they offer for us humans protection, enhancing our immunity, moving us closer into alignment with ourselves.
